TENNESSEE ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS |
Register for the 2023 conference HERE
TASSW was founded in 1978 for the purpose of advancing and improving school social work services for students in Tennessee. The ongoing accomplishments towards this goal depend upon the active participation, cooperation, interaction and interdependence of the members of TASSW. Membership is open to persons who are currently providing social work services in the schools, who are involved in social work education, or who are students majoring in school social work. Associate membership is available to persons who are currently employed in related support services such as school nurses, school psychologists, guidance counselors, and attendance supervisors. School Social Workers have an awesome responsibility to provide quality services to the children of Tennessee. Our profession affords us the opportunity to effect change for generations to come as we assist children and families in moving towards empowerment, high achievement and competency. Many of the members of TASSW are also skilled as professors, administrators, activists, and educational leaders at the local, state and national levels.
